ESS, NIS and GIS in Multi-Player Mixed Games

چکیده
Abstract: In this paper, we study the concepts of evolutionarily stable strategy (ESS), neighborhood invader strategy (NIS) and global invader strategy (GIS) in mixed games which are composed by pure games according to a certain probability distribution. We find the equivalent conditions about the three concepts in mixed games. The main conclusion is that if all the pure games have a same ESS or NIS or GIS, then it is also an ESS or an NIS or a GIS for the mixed game. Conversely, it is false and we give counterexamples. For the relationships among the three concepts in mixed games, we conclude that the concepts ESS and NIS are equivalent to one another, a GIS must be an ESS (NIS) , but an ESS (NIS) may not be a GIS. These results in mixed games are similar to those in multi-player pure games.

Evolutionary Game Theory
Evolutionary game theory developed as a means to predict the expected distribution of individual behaviors in a biological system with a single species that evolves under natural selection. It has long since expanded beyond its biological roots and its initial emphasis on models based on symmetric games with a finite set of pure strategies where payoffs result from random one-time interactions ...

We find quantum mechanics playing a role in evolutionary dynamics described by the notion of an Evolutionarily Stable Strategy (ESS). An ESS being a refinement of Nash equilibrium concept is a stable strategy in an evolutionary game with replicator dynamic as the underlying process. We investigate ESSs in two and three player symmetric quantum games played by the proposed scheme of applying ′ i...

متن کاملEvolutionarily Stable Strategies with Two Types of Player
A definition of ESS (evolutionarily stable strategy) is suggested for games in which there are two types of player, each with its own set of strategies, and the fitness of any strategy depends upon the strategy mix, of both types, in the population as a whole. We check that the standard ESS results hold for this definition and discuss a mate-desertion model which has appeared in the literature ...
